On Sunday night in Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Miss California ‘Alyssa Campanella’ was crowned for ‘Miss USA 2011’ in front of a live studio audience. She topped a field of 51 beauty queens to take the title. Miss USA 2010, Rima Fakih handing over the crown to Campanella as her successor. Miss Tennessee Ashley Durham was became the first runner-up and contestants from Alabama and Texas placed third and fourth.

The top 16 contestants were picked by preliminary judges through competitions and interviews during the week before the telecast and the top eight after the swimsuit competition and the top 4 after the evening gown portion in this competition.
Alyssa Campanella is a 21-year-old girl from California. Originally from Manalapan, N.J., Alyssa began modeling at age 16. She is currently resides in Los Angeles, she has also other beauty pageant titles like, 2007 Miss New Jersey Teen USA, first runner-up for 2007 Miss Teen USA, first runner-up for 2008 Miss New Jersey USA, Miss California USA in 2011. Campanella said, “she has been competing in pageants since she was 15 because of her mom”.
