Hawaii And US West Coast hits By Tsunami – Video News
Tsunami waves hits US West Coast and Hawaii on Friday, some 12 hours after the temblor. Hawaii is some 4,000 miles (6,500 kilometers) east of the epicenter of Friday's earthquake.
Mike Murphy, emergencies chief in Port Orford, Oregon said, "The tsunami has arrived now and the ocean is surging as though it were between high tide and low tide every 30 minutes instead of the usual six hours."

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reported wave changes at Waianae Harbor at around 3:24 am (1324 GMT), shortly before the relatively small waves were seen at Waikiki.

US President Barack Obama said, "We are asking all our citizens in the affected region to listen to their state and local officials.I have instructed FEMA to be ready to assist Hawaii and the rest of the US states and territories that could be affected."
Obama also said that he was monitoring the tsunami threat to his home state of Hawaii and the US West Coast after expressing condolences to those killed in the earthquake and offering to aid Japan.
