Teena Marie Dead at Age 54
Soul singer Teena Marie was found dead in her California home on Sunday morning, She was 54. Teena Marie was the first not African American female singer who marketed to the African American music buying community.
The cause of the Teena’s death was not been released, but media reportet that she died in her sleep. Police department said that they do no suspect foul play and it looks like Teena Marie died of natural causes.

Teena Marie was an American Grammy Award-nominated singer–songwriter–producer. Marie, nicknamed Lady Tee, sometimes spelled Lady T, was played rhythm guitar, keyboards and congas. She also wrote, produced, sang and arranged virtually all of her songs since her 1980 release Irons in the Fire. In 1985, Teena Marie's song "Lovergirl" peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, her most successful single to date.
