Long-awaited Movie, ‘The Tempest’ is new version of Shakespeare's The Tempest - starring the likes of Helen Mirren, Russell Brand and Alfred Molina - has finally been released online. And you can watch it below.
The Tempest, made by visionary director Julie Taymor looks visually stunning. It stars Helen Mirren in the lead role as Prospera (a part played by men in the original version of the play) with a supporting cast that includes Russell Brand and Alfred Molina as Trincolo and Stephano (two drunk jesters who attempt to mount a rebellion) plus Chris Cooper, Alan Cumming and Ben Wishaw.
The story is, Prospera reigns over a magical island and unleashes almighty powers against shipwrecked enemies. Filming began in winter 2008 in Hawaii and came just as the tabloid storm over Russell Brand's infamous lewd voicemail messages to Andrew Sachs was raging.
Speaking recently about the experience of working alongside Dame Helen Mirren, Brand complimented her on her "roaring estrogen and female energy" saying about the 65-year-old actress: "She's got that potency doesn't she? That's why she can play queens and leaders."
The Tempest will hit US cinemas on 10 December. No UK cinema date has been announced.
