Bill Ervin Dies
Bill Erwin, an American television, film, and stage actor with television and film credits. As a character actor, he was known for his role of Sid Fields, an embittered, irascible man on Seinfeld– for which he received an Emmy nomination – as well his regular appearances in Star Trek: The Next Generation, has passed away Dec. 29 of age related causes at his Studio City, California, home.
Bill Erwin was born in Texas in 1914. He studied acting at Pasadena Playhouse and performed in stage productions around Los Angeles trough the decades. He worked on Broadway, at the Laguna Playhouse and Theater 40 in Beverly Hills.
He got an Emmy nod for playing the character named Sid Fields on ‘Seinfeld’,1980. Bill Enloyed a long career in movies and television, taking lots of roles on show including Gunsmoke, The Twilight Zone, The Golden Girls, My name is Earl and Growing Panis.
Bill Erwin is survived by his sister Mary Gene Cosper, his four children and eight grandchildren.
